The official, full-length trailer for "One Battle After Another" — the latest film written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and staring Leonardo DiCaprio — was released this morning, giving Humboldt County residents a chance to see their beloved home in action!
The film had local residents all aflutter in early 2024, as the film crew and stars could be spotted filming in many locations around the North Coast, including Arcata, Eureka, Trinidad and Cutten. Several of these local spots can be seen in the trailer, including Arcata's pedestrian footbridge and Raliberto's Taco Shop, and the payphone DiCaprio uses is in front of the Murphy's Market in Cutten.
Apart from DiCaprio, the film also features costars Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Wood Harris and Alana Haim. The screenplay was inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel “Vineland,” which is set in Humboldt, Del Norte and Mendocino counties, making our area the perfect choice for shooting the flick.
"One Battle After Another" is set for release in theaters on Sep. 26.
