42nd Annual Wildflower Show
42nd Annual Wildflower Show
The California Native Plant Society invites the public to view wildflowers at the Jefferson Community Center, Friday afternoon, May 3 (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.), through Sunday, May 5 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Hundreds of fresh wildflowers will be on display. On Friday evening, guests are encouraged to paint or draw the flowers. Some art supplies will be provided, and experienced artists will be present to tutor. On Saturday and Sunday, every half hour, pop-up talks will be presented. Topics will include violet pollination, invasive plants, and the carrot family. Guests may bring a flower to be identified by experts. And this year, the theme is wetlands, so plants of coastal salt marshes and flood plains along streams will have their own table, including plants with showy flowers and those that are wind pollinated.
