A Reason to Listen, Humboldt’s longest-running live poetry event, is moving to The Historic Eagle House Ballroom (139 2nd Street, Eureka) on September 10. The first show of the season will feature one of the show’s founders, Therese Fitzmaurice, who will be doing a book release reading from her new collection, Beyond the Horizon. Copies of her book will be available for purchase and signing. Special guests include DJ Goldylocks and Live Art with Dre Meza! The open mic is available to the public and sign-ups begin at 6:00pm. The show starts at 6:30pm. $7.00 cover (cash or Venmo only for the door).
