Essential Cinema:One Battle after Another
The Eureka Theater will bring the Academy Award winning film One Battle After Another to the big screen this Saturday, April 11, with a special evening that celebrates the Redwood Region's role in bringing Paul Thomas Anderson's epic to life.
Doors open at 7 p.m. The night begins with a live Q&A featuring local actors who appeared in the film, including Tisha Sloan, the local actress who shared a screen with Leonardo DiCaprio. Following the Q&A will be exclusive video presentations from the Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission. The screening will start immediately after.
Cassandra Hesseltine, Film Commissioner for Humboldt-Del Norte, will be on hand to discuss the years of work that went into securing the production for the area. The Film Commission helped coordinate locations and local talent for One Battle After Another, which went on to win six Academy Awards including Best Picture.
Local filming locations featured in the movie include Eureka's Sequoia Park, Murphy's in Cutten, and the area around Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, among others.
Adult tickets are $10 and available now through the Eureka Theater's Eventbrite page. Tickets will also be sold at the door when the box office opens at 7 p.m.
Because the film is rated R, it is not recommended for children.
This is a rare chance to see one of the most celebrated films of 2025 on the big screen at the historic Eureka Theater, with the people and places that helped make it happen right here on the North Coast.
The screening is part of the theater’s ongoing Essential Cinema film series sponsored by RCEA.
