Forest Moon Festival

Forest Moon Festival

The Forest Moon Festival (May 28–31, 2026) is a multi-city celebration across Humboldt and Del Norte Counties, honoring the region’s iconic role as the filming location for the Forest Moon of Endor in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
From the rugged coast of Crescent City to the redwood-lined streets of Eureka and Arcata, the festival brings the "galaxy far, far away" to life with a mix of cinematic history and community spirit.

What to Expect
Cinematic Immersion: Explore authentic filming history at the Redwood Coast Museum of Cinema, or catch outdoor screenings of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi under the very redwoods that inspired the film.

Family Adventures: Participate in costume contests (including an Ewok-specific category!), scavenger hunts, and the "Rebel Challenge" obstacle course.

Exclusive Experiences: Meet special guests like director Kyle Newman and Matt Michnovetz, or enjoy the 21+ "Forest Fest" at the Sequoia Park Zoo featuring local beverages and the illuminated Redwood Sky Walk.

The Forest Moon Festival App: A digital "Passport & Scavenger Hunt" that lets you visit filming sites and unlock local deals for a chance to win round-trip airline tickets.

Local Pop-Ups: Additional themed "takeovers" at participating restaurants, and shops throughout the region.

Tip: Be sure to download the official festival app or check the Forest Moon Festival website.
