Come help the restoration of the McKinleyville Botanical Garden in Hiller Park on Sunday, July 21, from 2 to 4 pm. Various maintenance projects are on-going, with a current focus on prepping an area for sheet-mulching later this summer. If possible, bring weeding tool and bucket.
Join other volunteers at this small community-driven botanical garden which features pollinator and bird friendly plants. No experience needed. Learn about native plants; take home cuttings. Once volunteers learn the ropes, they can work on days of their choosing. It’s a great place to be outdoors; listen to the ocean as you create a welcoming environment for bees, birds and people. Go west on Hiller Road to parking lot for Hammond Trail/Soccer/Dog Park. Garden is adjacent to children's playground.
