October Science on Tap
October Science on Tap
Boo! Did we scare you? Wait till you see what we have brewing for this month's Science on Tap! We’re thrilled to welcome Brook Thompson, from the Yurok and Karuk tribes, for a morbid talk about water and its mysterious ways. Drawing on her work as a Ph.D. student, scientist, engineer, author, activist, and artist, Brook will weave together an interdisciplinary (and spooky!) story of water like you've never heard before. Brace yourself as we descend into the sinister world of water, from deadly dams to sand coffins and beyond.
The event begins at 6 PM! Arrive early to snag a seat and sip a local brew from Paskenta Mad River Brewery while you settle in.
All donations support Science on Tap and in-stream restoration projects by the Eel River Watershed Improvement Group—thank you for helping keep these events going strong!
The weather is looking rainy—dress warmly and in costume! The tent will be up and the heat will be on. And if you can, carpool with friends (parking is limited).
Science on Tap fosters collaboration among local advocates for natural resources. Let's create a platform for sharing ideas and inspire resilience in environmental restoration for generations to come. Join us in building an inclusive space that welcomes everyone into the environmental community, making knowledge accessible and enjoyable for all in a laid-back and fun setting. See you there!
