It often feels like progressive and conservative Americans do nothing but attack each other. While this may be true in statehouses, online and in the media, when we connect in our day-to-day lives, it is clear that we are more alike than different.
This discussion group is for anyone interested in reaching out across the political divide and getting to know their neighbors. While we may share different perspectives on the hot-button issues of the day, this is an opportunity to get to know the ordinary people behind the politics and learn what makes them tick.
The goal is to turn down the volume on political rhetoric and move towards national unity, one conversation at a time. There is no set structure for the group. The only requirements are a willingness to share openly and listen respectfully, without judgement.
This new meetup group will be held on the second Monday of each month. For the first meetup, we will meet in the Village Pub at the Victorian Inn in Ferndale. Please RSVP at https://www.meetup.com/depolarizing-america-dialogue-across-the-political-divide/events/313059596/?eventOrigin=your_events. Also the location may change, so please check the meetup page for the latest details.
