Join the Natural History Museum of Cal Poly Humboldt as we host Lorena Dominguez, a Biology student with Cal Poly Humboldt and the The North Coast Environmental Center For a Talk on Plankton. Drifters of Wigi: The Tiny Life Forms That Keep Our Bay Thriving. Explore how these tiny drifting organisms play a big role in the ocean. Learn about the importance of Citizen Science to protect and monitor Plankton in our bay. Friday Sept 26th, 2025 from 6:30-7:30pm.This event is free, donations are appreciated. Redwood Region Audubon Society will be offering a free public field trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Bring your binoculars and enjoy the incredible views of Humboldt Bay, easy-to-walk trails, and a great diversity of birdlife!
The Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday, year round, offering the freshest produce, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, bread, flowers, and more! Enjoy music and hot food vendors at this fun, family friendly event. No pets are allowed, but trained, ADA certified, service animals are welcome. Our commercial fishermen will be taking over Madaket Plaza at the foot of C street, Old Town Eureka on scheduled Saturdays from 9am- 1pm June - November,
Come down, meet your fishermen, and learn about our fishing industry. Captains will be selling their fresh catch open air style. Buy a whole fish and have it filleted on site at our custom fillet station. Making fish stock or need fish waste for your garden?? Let our Market staff know and we will have it wrapped up for you at pick-up. Buckets and Ice chests are encouraged.

The Friends of the Arcata Library are holding a Fall Fundraiser to support the librarian's wish list. We will be collecting donations through September at the library. All donations will go toward purchasing books at a local bookstore. Come in to the Arcata Library, suggest a title, and and donate today!
Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary each Saturday. Meet leaders at 2 p.m. outside the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-or-shine walk.
Let's Walk! Trinidad Arts Night returns for 2025!
This town-wide walk includes a variety of art exhibits, live music, artist receptions, face painting, fire spinning, skate ramps, pop-up sales, and oyster, cider, or wine tastings. You may start at the Trinidad Art Gallery, 490 Trinity St, wind your way through exhibits and more, including at Trinidad Museum, and finish up near Lighthouse Grill, 355 Main St., at the bandstand and hear popular dance bands. Some months finish up with a fire show afterwards.

This event, being held on National Good Neighbbor Day" is for residents in the "Muni" neighborhood of Eureka between 7th and Wabash, C and J Streets. An all ages event, it will include music from DJ L Boogie, a Kids' Parade, Games, Community Tables and Neighborhood Ambassadors to help people meet their neighbors.
