Join Friends of the Dunes for Nature Story Time at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Nature Story Time is geared for ages 3 to 6, and is held every Thursdays from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM starting October 2nd and ending on December 11th. Each week there is a short story, movement activity and art project for children and their caregivers to enjoy. Upcoming topics include owls, pollinators, and dune plants. Nature Story Time on October 9th and November 20th will be bilingual (Spanish). Our commercial fishermen will be taking over Madaket Plaza at the foot of C street, Old Town Eureka on scheduled Saturdays from 9am- 1pm June - November,

Come down, meet your fishermen, and learn about our fishing industry. Captains will be selling their fresh catch open air style. Buy a whole fish and have it filleted on site at our custom fillet station. Making fish stock or need fish waste for your garden?? Let our Market staff know and we will have it wrapped up for you at pick-up. Buckets and Ice chests are encouraged.

Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary each Saturday. Meet leaders at 2 p.m. outside the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-or-shine walk.

Our galleries, museums, theaters, bars and restaurants are open late for your enjoyment.

Tourists and residents alike graze and sip their way around Old Town & Downtown Eureka, where dozens of historic galleries and businesses showcase the works of highbrow and lowbrow artists alike. Enjoy live music and special events each month.

Culture guru John Villani picked Eureka as one of the best art towns in America. By one estimate, there are more artists in Humboldt County per capita than any other county in California. If you visit Eureka during Arts Alive, you should have an easy time counting them as well as their admirers. Free entertainment at many venues.
