Humboldt Literacy Project and Humboldt County Library invite families to a special magical Family Literacy Party featuring Dale Lorzo from Sacramento in several library visits. Using refined slight-of-hand, marvelous escapes, and masterful illusions, magician Dale Lorzo produces a unique experience filled with zest, sparkle, and comedy for the whole family! This is a free event for children and the adults who love them and each child in attendance gets to choose their own free book to keep. Be ready to learn some magic tricks you can perform with everyday household items!

The McKinleyville Certified Farmers' Market offers the freshest fruits and vegetables, hot cacao and more! Enjoy music and hot food vendors at this fun, family friendly event. No pets are allowed, but trained, ADA certified, service animals are welcome. CalFresh EBT customers are able to receive a market match at every farmers’ market. Visit the market info booth for more information. Open 3-6PM every Thursday, July-October.

Visit the McKinleyville Farmers' Market to purchase the freshest farm goods, all non-GMO and grown in Humboldt County. 

​This market has a huge variety of locally grown produce, decorative and edible plants, and locally caught fish.

Vendors come from around the county to bring their bounty to McKinleyville.  Warm weather crops like peaches, tomatoes, and peppers come from as far as Petrolia and Willow Creek, and our own McKinleyville farmers bring coastal favorites like kale and potatoes.  We also have a great selection of decorative plants, like succulents and begonias, and edibles like blueberries, figs, and currants.

Hungry? There's a barbecue truck located IN market just for your convenience! Or, snack on a basket of strawberries or figs as you enjoy the local musicians and spending time with your neighbors.

We are located in the parking lot of the Eureka Natural Foods McKinleyville location, so parking is never an issue and your car is close by to load full of your favorite goodies from the market.  PLUS, make sure to stop in Eureka Natural Foods for whatever else you need to complete your shopping list!

Thursday, October 23 4:30-5:15, the CR Multilingual Club is proud to offer a Spanish/English language exchange at the CR downtown campus 527 D St. in Eureka.
The event will connect Spanish and English speakers looking to practice either language in an event of mutual benefit and support.

Participants will converse in Spanish for 15 minutes, and then switch to English for 15 minutes. This allows those studying either language to connect and find communicative purpose in their second language.

Childcare and refreshments will be offered for the event free of charge.

Join us for a walking tour of Ferndale's Victorian Village and Historic Cemetery. A local guide will lead these tours offering you a unique journey into the past.

During each October weekend, five 1-hour walking tours are offered by the Ferndale Cemetery Association. Each tour begins at Ferndale's Visitor Center (580 Main St., Ferndale, CA 95536) and ends with complimentary appetizers at a local restaurant.

Advanced reservations are required.

In October, the Ferndale Museum is holding Candlelight & Ghost Stories, a family-friendly tour through the museum with each spooky stop featuring a ghostly visit from a spirit of Ferndale's past. There are no "jump-scares" in the tour. Come join us for some spooky fun!
