Welcome to the first episode of Heard in Humboldt on KHSU, a program where we play a range of live music performances captured in Humboldt County. Today we’ll be playing a segment of a performance by a local group – Makenu – an Arcata-based, 8 piece self described “psychedelic cumbia” band. You’ll hear three pieces from Makenu, blending classic cumbia with ska, hip hop, psychedelic sounds, and more.
