During COVID there was a huge rise in the use of food delivery apps as a convenient way to get food from your favorite restaurants without having to leave your home. And though apps like DoorDash are certainly convenient, they come with extra costs to users and to the restaurants. This week we met with Jim Richards founder of USVetsDeliver, an alternative food delivery option that aims to keep your delivery dollars local.
USVetsDeliver offers deliveries between Trinidad and College of the Redwoods. You can find USVetsDeliver (all one word) on your app service, or by visiting order.usvetsdeliver.com.
Following the recording of this episode, Richards also announced that USVetsDeliver will be donating all of its profits to Food for People to help affected by cuts to food assistance programs.
"To show how much we care about what’s happening to folks during the Government Shutdown, USVetsDeliver will be Donating All it’s Profits (after Paying Restaurants & Drivers) to Food for People until SNAP & WIC benefits resume," USVetsDeliver posted on Facebook. "Because we believe People are more important than Profits. How much we are able to Donate Depends on You."
