North Conversations: Humboldt Made's The Humboldt Passport

With the holiday shopping season officially upon us, local agencies and nonprofits are pushing to support local businesses, encouraging our community to “choose Humboldt” by shopping locally. For its part, Humboldt Made – a local nonprofit that supports small business, artisans and entrepreneurs in Humboldt County – has launched the “Shop Humboldt” digital passport, providing a way for folks to have fun and earn prizes while shopping at our local businesses. This week we met with Rosa Dixon executive director of Humboldt Made to learn more about the organization, the shop humboldt app, and the importance of shopping local this holiday season.

Raised in Arcata, Stephanie McGeary has lived in Humboldt County for most of her life and is proud to share stories about this weird and beautiful place that she calls home.
Alejandro Zepeda has worked for KHSU since early 2020, curating the news page, and working to add more locally-focused community content in the form of shows and PSA's to KHSU's lineup.
