"Arcata has always been interesting," says Alex Stillman. "And I see it becoming more and more interesting."
Few Arcatans have a deeper institutional memory of the city's inner workings than Alex Stillman.
Since first setting foot on the Plaza around 1970, she helped bring the iconic Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary into reality, broke the glass ceiling on City Council, and has encouraged Arcata to take the long view when it comes to city planning.
In this episode of Talk Humboldt, Councilwoman Stillman shares her historical perspective and her optimism for what's in the works.
