Printing and Book Making with Kate Hitt a Family Literacy Party
Humboldt Literacy Project and Humboldt County Library invite aspiring young authors and artists to explore the art of printing and bookmaking in two special Family Literacy Parties. Award-winning letterpress printer, book designer, and poet Kate Hitt will visit Blue Lake Library at 12:00 p.m. and Arcata Library at 3:00 p.m. for a finale to the Summer Reading Program on Saturday, August 5. Children 8 years old and up will get a chance to see and try printing on a Pilot Press and create their own book (younger children can participate with help from parents). This event is free for children and the adults who love them, and all participants get to pick out a free book. Call (707) 269-1910 for more information.
