Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary each Saturday. Meet leaders at 2 p.m. outside the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-or-shine walk.

Our galleries, museums, theaters, bars and restaurants are open late for your enjoyment.

Culture guru John Villani picked Eureka as one of the best art towns in America. By one estimate, there are more artists in Humboldt County per capita than any other county in California. The Good Body by Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues, is a witty, heartfelt, and thought-provoking exploration of women’s relationships with their bodies, beauty, aging, and self-worth. Through humor, vulnerability, and unforgettable stories, the play examines the pressures women face to look, feel, and exist a certain way while celebrating authenticity and self-acceptance. Directed by Vanessa Vrtiak and featuring a talented local cast, this production includes live music by DJ Goldylocks. All performances benefit the North Coast Rape Crisis Team and their vital work supporting survivors and our community. Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling.

Join Friends of the Dunes for a FREE Nature Story Time at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Nature Story Time is geared towards ages 0 to 5 and is held every Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM starting September 30 and ending December 9 (skipping November 25).

Each week there is a short story, movement activity, and art project for children and their caregivers to enjoy.

The Natural History Museum of Cal Poly Humboldt is hosting Scientific Illustration night. Second Wednesday of the month. February 11th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Participants will draw the specimen collection.
