Redwood Region Audubon Society will be offering a free public field trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Bring your binoculars and enjoy the incredible views of Humboldt Bay, easy-to-walk trails, and a great diversity of birdlife!
The Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday, year round, offering the freshest produce, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, bread, flowers, and more! Enjoy music and hot food vendors at this fun, family friendly event. No pets are allowed, but trained, ADA certified, service animals are welcome. CalFresh EBT customers are able to receive a market match at every farmers’ market to help make fresh food more affordable. Visit the market info booth for more information.

Join the merry band of ivy bashers at the Fireman’s Pavilion in Rohner Park on the third Saturday of Every Month at 9 a.m. Bring gloves if you have them or you can borrow a pair. Who knows, maybe you will meet a Gnome or two. Sponsored by the North Coast Chapter of the California Native Plant Society and the Fortuna Parks & Recreation Department. Come out to the Humboldt Dockside Market where you can buy fish directly from Humboldt based fishing vessels.
Our commercial fishermen will be taking over Madaket Plaza at the foot of C street, Old Town Eureka on scheduled Saturdays from 9am- 1pm June - November,
Come down, meet your fishermen, and learn about our fishing industry. Captains will be selling their fresh catch open air style. Buy a whole fish and have it filleted on site at our custom fillet station. Making fish stock or need fish waste for your garden?? Let our Market staff know and we will have it wrapped up for you at pick-up. Buckets and Ice chests are encouraged.

The North Country Fair is coming up on September 20 & 21. Live music and performances on three stages from 10-6. Local fine art products, handcrafted goods and amazing food. All Species Parade with Playhouse Arts will be Saturday at 1pm. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and participate in this theatrical parade. Samba da Alegria and Samba do Mar have been working hard on the annual Samba Parade, Sunday at 1pm. The North Country Fair strives to be a zero waste event. You can bring your own shopping bags, beer cup and utensils to help reduce our landfill waste.

The Friends of the Arcata Library are holding a Fall Fundraiser to support the librarian's wish list. We will be collecting donations through September at the library. All donations will go toward purchasing books at a local bookstore. Come in to the Arcata Library, suggest a title, and and donate today!
Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary each Saturday. Meet leaders at 2 p.m. outside the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-or-shine walk.
You are cordially invited to join us on Saturday, September 20 as we gather by candlelight in a beautiful redwood grove to acknowledge those who inspire and support our work. We will read aloud the names of our donors and those whom they have chosen to honor or memorialize, and reflect together on the many spirits that animate the work we share in. Those acknowledged at this ceremony will reflect all donations received between September 7, 2024 and September 5, 2025. To ensure that your loved one is recognized at this ceremony, please ensure that your donation reaches our office by September 5.
