Humboldt Repair Café is a free program where community members can bring in small items and receive expert assistance with repair.
A Repair Café is a community-driven event where people can bring their broken items to be repaired by volunteer experts. These volunteers, ranging from electricians and seamstresses to bike mechanics and woodworkers, are passionate about fixing things and helping others. The Repair Café not only encourages sustainability by preventing waste but also fosters a sense of community, learning and creativity.

Bring Broken Items: Gather items to get repaired and bring them to the event.Get Matched with a Volunteer: A team of experts will match participants with the right volunteer based on the items brought.Learn and Fix Together: Watch as the repair happens, learn valuable skills and ask questions during the process.The first Humboldt Repair Café will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Arcata Community, 321 Dr. MLK Jr. Parkway. This event is free and attendees should bring broken household items, clothing, small appliances, electronics and similar items, but motor vehicles, large household appliances and anything that cannot be individually carried through a doorway should be left at home.

Parent Project is a 10-week series where we go over topics like improving family relationships, using effective discipline to improve school attendance and performance, reduce substance use and negative peer influences, and how to address destructive behavior. It is an opportunity to meet with other parents in similar situations in a judgement free zone and begin to develop a new support system. The Henderson Center Certified Farmers' Market offers the freshest fruits and vegetables, bread, muffins, tamales, jam, nursery plants, and more! Join Friends of the Dunes for Nature Story Time at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Nature Story Time is geared for ages 3 to 6, and is held every Thursdays from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM starting October 2nd and ending on December 11th. Each week there is a short story, movement activity and art project for children and their caregivers to enjoy. Upcoming topics include owls, pollinators, and dune plants.
