Here on the North Coast, our local Red Cross office and its volunteers work tirelessly to help get people back on their feet after a disaster. This week, NCC meets with Chris German, manager of Hambro Recycling’s CRV Buyback Center in Arcata. Before opening its doors in April 2022, Humboldt County had been without a buyback center for nearly two years, costing the community money and sending countless valuable reclaimable materials to landfills. Since opening in Arcata, the buyback center has processed literal tons of glass, aluminum, and plastic, while putting money back in community members' wallets.
