Sep 06 Saturday
On the first Saturday of every month, folks from the community will sell their arts, crafts, and produce at our local's market. Join us each Saturday for delicious dinners, seasonal drinks, local's market & line dancing.
Our galleries, museums, theaters, bars and restaurants are open late for your enjoyment.
Tourists and residents alike graze and sip their way around Old Town & Downtown Eureka, where dozens of historic galleries and businesses showcase the works of highbrow and lowbrow artists alike. Enjoy live music and special events each month.
Culture guru John Villani picked Eureka as one of the best art towns in America. By one estimate, there are more artists in Humboldt County per capita than any other county in California. If you visit Eureka during Arts Alive, you should have an easy time counting them as well as their admirers. Free entertainment at many venues.
Free admission to the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St. & Ink People’s Brenda Tuxford Gallery, 422 First St.

The Eureka Symphony is kicking off its 2025-2026 season with a Season Prelude Gala at the River Lodge in Fortuna. Everyone is welcome to join us for an afternoon of conversation, live music, hors d’oeuvres and sweets by Cassaro’s Catering, Pat Knittel’s North Story Wines, sparkling Cava, beer, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Tim Randles will play piano for us while we mingle. Gregg Foster and Talvi Fried will host a rousing live auction featuring 10 different, new and fun packages, all in support of Eureka Symphony’s season. We’re also bringing back a few silent auction items, including an opportunity to bid on a “Celebration Slide” – your own personal tribute slide playing during our pre-concert slide show. You can also bid to sit on stage during one of the orchestra’s rehearsals. We will also be raising funds for our new Symphony Shuttle program.
A special performance by the Temporary Resonance Trio, featuring Carol Jacobson, Terrie Baune and John Chernoff will be the day’s finale. Tickets are $50.
The Season Prelude Gala is proudly sponsored by Six Rivers Optical in Eureka.
