Join Friends of the Eel River and our allies for solidarity gatherings on the second Monday of each month at Humbrews in Arcata from 5 - 7pm.
On September 14 we will be joined by local bus drivers as part of a public meet-and-greet. Meet the folks who keep the buses moving, ask them your burning questions about how transit works, and show your appreciation for some of our community’s most essential workers. To make this possible, this month we’re partnered with two organizations. The Coalition for Responsible Transportation Priorities (CRTP) promotes transportation solutions that protect and support a healthy environment, healthy people, healthy communities and a healthy economy on the North Coast. AFSCME 1684 is a community of workers dedicated to fighting for fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security.
Additionally, Friends of the Eel River will provide updates on the latest Eel River news and ways to stay involved in advocating for dam removal. Stop in for updates on the SoCal water grab and for your last chance to submit your comments to FERC on the scope of their analysis of the impacts of dam removal. No expertise required – just an interest in restoring the Eel and its native species!
Join with community members to plan creative resistance to the Trump administration's destructive policies, learn about community initiatives, and take meaningful action to protect the people, creatures, and values we all hold dear.
Humbrews is generously donating a portion of sales during the event, so please bring your family out to have dinner and drinks and join the movement to support what our community cares about. Every month features a raffle, a variety of engaging activities, and opportunities to both learn about local organizing efforts and share your own community projects.
