The Mateel Community Center invites you to Reggae on the River 2026, happening August 14 through 16 along the beautiful Eel River in Humboldt County.
Come party Humboldt style with three full days of live reggae music, riverside camping, local food, artisan vendors, yoga, art, and good vibes under the redwoods.

Humboldt Made and the North Coast Growers Association will transform the streets of Old Town Eureka into a festive place to meet up with friends and neighbors after the long work week. Friday Night Market has it all; farmers market, arts and craft vendors, bar featuring the best of Humboldt produced beverages, a wide variety of food vendors and of course, live local music for dancing. Not to mention we are located in the heart of Old Town surrounded by some of the best mom and pop boutiques, lively bars and tasty restaurants. ​May 22-August 14.

The musical is based on the 1949 book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp. Set in Austria on the eve of the Anschluss in 1938, the musical tells the story of Maria, who takes a job as governess to a large family while she decides whether to become a nun. She falls in love with the children, and eventually their widowed father, Captain von Trapp. He is ordered to accept a commission in the German Navy, but he opposes the Nazis. He and Maria decide on a plan to flee Austria with the children. Many songs from the musical have become standards, including "Do-Re-Mi", "My Favorite Things", "Edelweiss", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", and the title song "The Sound of Music".

Redwood Region Audubon Society will be offering a free public field trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Bring your binoculars and enjoy the incredible views of Humboldt Bay, easy-to-walk trails, and a great diversity of birdlife!

Ney-puy is back on the menu at the Yurok Tribe’s 62nd annual Klamath Salmon Festival on Saturday, August 15.

The theme of this year’s event is “The Return of the Salmon.” For the first time in four years, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy salmon at the festival. The salmon lunch will include a fresh piece of traditionally cooked fish, salad, fruit, a drink and a roll for $15. Yurok elders will receive free lunch tickets at the event.

The 62nd Salmon Festival is packed with fun activities for people of all ages. The day will include a Ney-puy Fun Run/5K, a parade, live music by Blue Rhythm Revue, Indian Card Game, Stick Game, basketball, softball and disc golf tournaments and more than 170 vendors selling high-quality gift items.

The Salmon Festival presents a great opportunity to support local artists and entrepreneurs.

On Saturday, August 15, BridgeFest will celebrate its 30th year of the Alien & Human Games. There's the Flying saucer toss off the old bridge, Alien costume contest and Alien Calling contest. From 11-5 there is Live Music, a kidz zone, more games, a Huge raffle, food and lots of vendors. The event is located on the Bridgeville School Grounds. Join the North Coast Scottish Society for our annual Celtic Picnic featuring a mini Highland Games on the lawn at Lost Coast Brewery.

Try your hand at tossing a caber or channel your inner Scottish footballer by trying to flip a traffic cone. Ladies and theydies can see how far they can throw a welly while kids compete in sheep tossing (of the stuffed animal variety). Lads dressed in kilts can enter into the bonny knees competition. Prizes will be awarded to winners!

Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary each Saturday. Meet leaders at 2 p.m. outside the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-or-shine walk.
