This is an interesting event, well worth checking out. These Chicago guys made six records between 1988 and 1996 that become kinda legendary in the world of "indie folk" or "alt country" or "trance roots" or "ambient Americana," whatever you want to call it. They emerge now for a rare show to promote their first record in three decades. Jeff Tweedy is a big fan (he wrote about them!), as is John Darnielle and Jonathan Lethem (they also wrote about them!), and their strange hybrid sound inspired/influenced everybody from Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven to Jim O'Rourke to Califone to Counting Crows to The Jayhawks... you should come.
