Pastels on the Plaza transforms Arcata's sidewalks into a colorful outdoor art gallery while supporting early childhood development and education!

Redwood Region Audubon Society will be offering a free public field trip at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary.

Bring your binoculars and enjoy the incredible views of Humboldt Bay, easy-to-walk trails, and a great diversity of birdlife!

The Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday, year round, offering the freshest produce, meat, fish, cheese, eggs, bread, flowers, and more! Celebrating environmental education and its intersection with science and the arts, Natural Science Day returns to the Garberville Town Square on Saturday, October 3 from 1pm-5pm. Organized by Friends of the Lost Coast, this showcase of the natural sciences features educational activities, informational displays, and nature art programming for all ages. FOLC’s Environmental Education Coordinator presents hands-on natural science lessons, alongside offerings from numerous non-profits and public agencies – all geared towards kids. Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) is sponsoring a free tour of the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary each Saturday. Meet leaders at 2 p.m. outside the Interpretive Center on South G Street for a 90-minute, rain-or-shine walk.

Our galleries, museums, theaters, bars and restaurants are open late for your enjoyment.

Tourists and residents alike graze and sip their way around Old Town & Downtown Eureka, where dozens of historic galleries and businesses showcase the works of highbrow and lowbrow artists alike. Enjoy live music and special events each month.

Culture guru John Villani picked Eureka as one of the best art towns in America. By one estimate, there are more artists in Humboldt County per capita than any other county in California. If you visit Eureka during Arts Alive, you should have an easy time counting them as well as their admirers. Free entertainment at many venues.

Creature Corner: Art by Graham Payne is a solo exhibition of original creatures, sculptures, paintings, masks, artifacts, and other biological impossibilities. The work combines traditional and digital sculpture, 3D printing, painting, and creature design with bright color, strange biology, humor, and a slightly creepy but inviting atmosphere. Opening October 3 during Arts Alive at 424 Gallery in Old Town Eureka. The exhibition will also be open every Saturday in October from 6–9 PM.
